From a young age, she was exposed to a variety of music while growing up in Korea. While at Gugak National Middle/high school, she specialized in the Geomungo, and at Seoul National University's Department of Korean Music, she studied the theory of Korean traditional music and history. Progressing to graduate school, she wrote a thesis on the transformation of traditional music into modern music education. After graduation, while working as a producer at an FM radio station specializing in Korean traditional music, she realized the joy and significance of creating children's programs. After moving to the United States, she settled in Sacramento and worked as the principal of a Korean school. Recently, as the executive director of the Korean Language and Cultural Center of Sacramento, she has been involved in various cultural projects and collaborations with local research institutions, including the Korean School.
