Jennifer was born and raised in the heart of California's Central Valley in Merced, CA. Her parents are immigrant refugees from Laos who resettled in the valley for agricultural work opportunities in the 80s. Jennifer is a Hmong American woman advocate and organizer. She is the Co-Founder and Manager of Hlub Hmong Center (HHC). HHC is a grassroots, community-driven, and advocacy organization focused on systems change within public institutions and Hmong culture. Jennifer has a keen interest in health and education equity. Much of her work centers around cultural preservation and building intergenerational relationships to address inequities and disparities in the Hmong community. She has a Masters of Public Health in Community Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Education/Promotion from the University of California, Los Angeles and bachelors in Psychology from the University of California, Davis.
